The Algoma Food Network was born out of a desire to connect like-minded individuals and groups who are interested/involved in community-level action related to food security in the Algoma Region.
This is our first attempt at a web presence for our network. This is a space for individuals to connect, communicate, coordinate and plan activities, and share information, strategies and insights about local food security initiatives and events happening in our community.

Hello there,
My name is Dax and I’m planning a film series this summer called Sault Ste. Marie Cinema Politica. We are showing various social, cultural, political, and environmental films to “enlighten, inspire, and educate” local citizens. There’s a film we are showing entitled ‘The Future of Food’ that I think you might be interested in. We are currently looking for guest facilitators so we can link the movies to local people, organizations, and initiatives so our audience can ask questions and hopefully get involved.
Check out the website and let me know what you think.
Thanks and take care,
Dax
